Dear Mr. And Ms. Svitek,
I would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
During my stay at Outward Bound, I learned new things
and met new people. I also learned the four pillars:
compassion, self-reliance, craftsmanship, and physical
fitness. These four pillars we learned as a family.
In Outward Bound, we learned teamwork, how to use a
compass (by putting red Fred in the shed), how to read
a map, how to put up a tarp, how to climb a mountain
(also giving slack and preventing a friend from falling),
and row a canoe. Living in the forest is difficult and
takes a lot of patience and teamwork to get through
these tough endeavors. We hiked seventy-five miles,
made up songs to sing while hiking, and even taught
others to break dance. I cannot even explain this experience
and how indebt I am to you. I am thankful for this experience
that will never be forgotten.
