Dear Svitek Family,
I would like to take a moment and reflect on the amazing
experiences of this summer with you, my gracious sponsors.
Thank you sooo.. much for allowing me this wonderful opportunity
to learn more about myself and my future profession -
that of introducing youth to nature!
Late in June, I began training at the Maurice Education
Center in Forida, Mass. I could never have anticipated
the countless smiles, hugs, laughter, tears, sighs, yawns,
swimming adventures, rope swings, jokes, pictures and
saddened goodbyes that would make up my summer of 2004.
The summer environmental education program was made up
of a back packing trip, a canoeing trip and all the wilderness
education and lessons needed to prepare the students for
the adventure. But you will notice that these things are
not what I remember off the top of my head; it is the
memories that made these experiences the wonderful thoughts
that they are today.
By financing my Outdoor Education internship, I have learned
so much about myself, students of the natural world and
my passion for the outdoors. I thank you from the bottom
of my heart for giving me my summer of 2004.
